Kennedy Space Center LC-39 Concept Presentation

I presented my first Big Idea today… to NASA. I presented a few other ideas that were mostly my own (or I took Allen’s crappy one and turned it into some better) that no one helped me with, and they loved all of it. But it was a tag-team effort with David doing most of the work, and they absolutely loved our collective ideas. There wasn’t a single thing they said they’d change. It received an A++, far surpasses anything I could have even dreamed of hoping for. As I said, David did most of the leg work (and I think is actually better at explaining experiences than I am), but it really was a team project with team ideas.

Listening to: Utada Hikaru - "One Last Kiss" Drinking: Sen cha from Fava Tea Mood: Mellow-ish. Waking up Working on: Adding Crew 11 to the ISS Wall interactive in Atlantis Reading: Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern (audiobook). About to pick up Matilda by Roald Dahl. Remember when Livejournal used to have the tags at the end where you could add what you were listening to and what your mood was? Mine had little blue kitty icons that went with your mood and were very cute. I miss them. I particularly remember the 'productive' one, where the cat hat glasses on and was tapping on a keyboard. There was also one where it was snoozing and had little 'zzz's above its head. On a different note, I had never heard this song by Utada Hikaru before (well, apparently I had because I had already "liked" it on Pandora, but I don't remember it), but I really like it. I'm actually repeating it again. It gives old school Utada vibes but apparently came out ...

したこと: - Found out someone at work was trying to groom me to cheat on his wife with him, something he's tried before with other women at work, unsuccessfully. - Had to sign paperwork with my boss in the room stating that I understand employees are allowed to have relationships with each other (I never questioned that) after someone claimed I made a statement I never did after they themselves made many compromising statements. Awkward situations abound now. But everyone has to work professionally and deal, and I better than anyone can do that. - My boss handled the situation neutrally and incredibly respectfully. I felt incredibly supported by her in that moment and like she handled it very well. I appreciated her skills as a leader in that situation and am grateful. She closed the situation graciously. - She also graciously checked in on my workload. It was one of the moments that made me remember when Christine actually felt like a great boss when I really liked workin...

Pole Update 6

Woo woo! Tonight was a very successful pole class. I dropped in to a level 6 class (it being on Wednesday nights and conflicting with trivia, I did not sign up; but today it happened to work out) and made huuuge strides in my pole progress. I was a little worried at first because the other gals were way advanced, and the first thing the instructor had us do was hands-only climbing, which I cannot do yet. But other than that (and that damn brass monkey), I was able to do every single move, including... A handspring!
