I finished the end of Lower Decks today, and it was a very cozy feeling. I really enjoyed this series and found it very comforting over the last few weeks. One of those feel-good shows I could watch over and over again. I have nostalgia for it even though I literally just watched the last episode less than 3 hours ago.
I'm surprised it doesn't have a bigger fan following considering how good it is. It's not really something I've heard people talk about or seen people dress up as, although I suppose I wouldn't recognize it if I did. I can barely find any fan art from it, which is a shame.
It has some of the best depictions of female characters I think I've ever seen. My favorite character is Tendi, the green Orion. She is such a unique personality. They did such a good job.
For years I had this weird itch or pulling every time I would see Lower Decks pop up on the screen because it reminded me of how the owners of my old house would watch it. It brought back bad memories, but I also remember catching glimpses of it and thinking it was legitimately cute, so I wanted to give it a chance and watch it eventually. I'm so glad I did.
Normally I feel a strong pull to keep seeking out fanfiction or fan art or anything that would draw out the addiction to my binging the show, since I really fell in love with it. But the ending felt so satisfying that I feel like it has just come to a natural end. I'm okay moving on from here. With very few shows has that ever happened to me before. But I think about it and it makes me happy in a way that the feelings are still lingering. How lovely.
